Credentials
I have over 15 years of experience as a professional horticulturalist. My passion for observing nature and working with the earth began before I could even walk. When my enthusiasm for fine art combined with my love of nature, my credentials expanded from a Bachelor of Fine Arts to arborist and horticulture certifications. Becoming a garden designer was the natural progression.
International Society of Arboriculture
Ten years as an Arboretum Gardener at South Coast Botanic Garden with Los Angeles Dept. of Parks and Recreation allowed me to really observe trees. I see each tree as part of a greater community. The relationship of a tree with the plants and wildlife around it dictate health. Trees are the backbone of every garden and your design will take existing trees and proposed trees into account.

I have worked with three design, build and maintenance companies in Indianapolis and two in Los Angeles. I have seen how important plant design and management practices impact the health of the plant. I am well versed in Integrated Pest Management practices and choose organic controls that work with nature instead of against it. These include choosing the right plant for the location, proper and timely pruning, appropriate water. Pest control can include release of a natural native predator such as wasps or ladybugs.
